Surnames:

I have John Arnold born ca. 1754, a Loyalist soldier in the Revolution in the 2nd NJ Volunteers under LtCol Isaac Allen. Looking for link. Believe he may be of the following line:

John Arnold "The School Master" - Mary Bowley Stephen b 1679 - 2nd wife Rachel Samuel b. 1726 - Phebe Ford

John Arnold "The Schoolmaster of Mansfield, Ct. Son Stephen and grandson Samuel of Morristown, NJ.

Belive Samuel Arnold and Phebe Ford had son John Arnold b ca. 1754. Do you have info on Samuel Arnold and Phebe Ford's descendants? Did they have a son John? Do you have further info on what happened to that John? Wonder if he could be my John Arnold the Loyalist soldier who emigrated after the war to New Brunswick. Thanks for any info you might have.

John (Ramsden) Arnold New Warhawk1935 (View posts) Posted: 3 May 2001 6:51AM GMT Classification: Edited: 9 Feb 2002 3:38PM GMT Surnames: I am new at this so please excuse me if I don't use the correct terminology in my message. I am also new to FamilyHistory.com and only today found a listing on the Arnold Surname Message Board, Message #774, Wednesday, April 26, 2000, posted by: Dorothy Scott Muirhead concerning John Ramsden Arnold who is, to the best of my knowledge, my 5th great-grandfather. I would love to make contact with her to learn more about John, especially why he might have changed his name from Ramsden to Arnold. Any help will be sincerely appreciated.

The John (Ramsden) Arnold that I was inquiring about apparently came to the US from England(date unknown)to NJ area about 1670 as John (or William?)later changed his name (legally?) to John Arnold.

I would also appreciate help in finding Charles K Arnold and/or a current email address for him.
