About John Bardon
Came from Poland, he spoke fluent German,Pauline Wasileski thinks he lived near the German border.He was a real sweetheart, Pauline was his only Granddaughter, he would walk her to school. He was about 5'9", bald with a grey fringe of hair, slight build. He used to play cards. He worked for the railroad, He took his family out to Washington state,city of Everett bought a house, because his wife's sister Laura Dombeck lived there with her family, her husband was deceased. He lost his job with the railroad in Everett, and brought his family back to WI where there was more work in 1930. In 1929, Pearl had her finger chopped off and her cousin Les and herself climbed up to get a sharpened ax hanging from a tree to chop more kindling for Jadusz (Grandfather) instead of cutting kindling, Les accidentally chopped the baby finger, left hand of Pearl (Pauline). The two of them were only three years old.
