No birth or baptism record has been found. He was deeded property by his father on April21, 1744. I assumed he was twenty one years old at the time of this deed, which is why I picked a 1723 year of birth for him. Most other sources say he was born in 1724 or 1725. === John was married in 1746 to Sarah Tompson, who was the mother of four of his children. On May 1, 1751, he and Sarah sold property which she had been deeded by her grandfather to Thomas Tracy of Preston. Sarah died andhe married a second time, fathering eleven more children. He had no mercy on his poor wives. Except for the last few, most of the children were born between 13 and 20 months apart. Interestingly, there was also an illegitimate child registered to a John Beamon and Silence Herrick in 1747. Of course, he probably wasn't the only John Beeman in Connecticut at the time. === John's will was dated "the21st day of September A.D. 1776 and in first year of States of the united colonies of North America." I guess there is no doubt where he stood on the issue of independence. It was recorded December 11 in the same year. In the first provision, he left twelve acres of property "down under the hill" to be divided equally between the two surviving children he had by his first wife. If either of the children were to die without issue, the property would go to the other. === Possibly associated with: Silence Herrick ? Third wife: Elizabeth Drinkwater, b. 2 Apr 1733 in New Milford, Litchfield Co., CT; d. 5 Feb 1787 in Kent, Litchfield Co., CT; buried: Kent Hollow Cemetery; married: 7 May 1755 in Kent, Litchfield Co., CT.
