John Bell, son of John and Hannah Bell, inherited 135 acres on the south side of Spring Branch from his father. He married Phoebe, daughter of Sylvanus Stokes and his wife, Cecilia Walker. Their children were baptized in the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Albemarle Parish, Surry, then Sussex County and mentioned in the Will of their grandmother, Hannah Bell in 1768:
- Sylvanus Bell, baptized January 1, 1746, married Mary (nee) and became the father of Elizabeth, born July 13, 1772; John, born December 24, 1770; and James, born February 11, 1774[1][2]
- John Bell, baptized January 9, 1748, died May 25, 1748, reported by Gregory Rawling (A.P.R)[3][4]

- Elizabeth Bell, married David Adams[7][8]
