  John Bronk, resident of this vicinity since 1872, died Wednesday [10/21/1931] at 6:15 p.m. at his home, 270 Mankato avenue, after a week's illness. Death was due to the infirmities of age. He was 81 years old.
  Mr. Bronk was born May 23, 1850, at Parchowo, Poland. He came to the United States, residing first in Milwaukee for about six months and then for two months in Steven Point, Wis., before coming to Winona in 1872. During the pioneer days he was employed in the lumber business. Later he moved to Pine Creek, Wis., where he engaged in farming.
  He married Miss Anna Fisher of Pine Creek in June 1879, and ten years later they moved to Winona where they resided until 1906. at that time they moved to Jamestown N.D., where he engaged in farming until his retirement in 1914 and their return here.
  Survivors are his wife; six children, Frank Bronk, Jamestown, N.D., Mrs R.J. Hammerski, Winona, Joseph Bronk, Winona, and Celia Bronk, Winona; one sister Mrs. Magdaline Cysewski, Winona, and 12 grandchildren.
  Funeral services will be held Saturday [Oct 24, 1931] at 9 a.m. at St. Stanislaus church, the Rt. Rev. J.W.J. Pacholski officiating. Preliminary services will be held at the home at 8:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery
