About John Knight Bucklyn
John had a very distinguished military career. He was from Foster Rhode Island and enlisted in the Rhode Island Light Artillery,Battery E, in 1861. Fought in 45 major battles, was wounded at Gettysburg, where he was the commanding officer of Battery E, his name is etched on the monument in the Peach Orchard,he received the congressional Medal of Honor for his bravery at Chancellorsville.
