Jane Hamilton, a daughter of John McKee and Rebecca (Robinson) Hamilton, was born in Nicholas County VA June 28, 1826.

She married a widower, John Peyton Byrne, July 24, 1854. John, a son of John Brown and Ann (Haymond) Byrne, was born July 6, 1817 and died in Braxton County VA (WV) February 2, 1860.

He married Sabina Creigh Sterrett in 1845. Sabina, a daughter of Andrew Sterrett, was born in VA about 1831 and died in Braxton County August 30, 1853.
