1 May 1793: Charter of Resignation by James Ferrier, W.S., agent for John, Duke of Argyll, in favour of Walter Campbell of Shawfield, only surviving son of deceased John Campbell, eldest son of Daniel Campbell of Shawfield, and Lady Henrietta Cunninghame, of the lands of Ardyne, Stronans, Brosahill [Broastill], Sandaich, Crackaig, Knocknafeolman, Auchalieach, Lergiebrick, Feoline, Ardearneall, Killearnadill, Knockmanie, Knockbreck, lands of Cames, Tarbert in Jura, forest of Jura and privileges of the same; under reservation to the said Duke of the liberty of hunting through said forest, all lying in the Island of Jura.
