John Preston Carman

From his obituary published in the Chico Enterprise Record 21 Apr 2010.

"Jack was born on Sept. 11, 1924 and lived in Lake Orion, Michigan. He died on April 15, 2010 in Chico, CA. He graduated from Lake Orion High School in 1942 and entered the U.S. Army, and served as a S/S GT US Army Medic. He served in New Guinea, Philippines, and Japan. Jack entered Alma College in Alma, Michigan in Sept. of 1946. While in school he met Lois and they were married in 1948. They moved to California in 1968, and then to Chico in 1990.

Jack is survived by his loving wife, Lois; daughters, Leanore Yoshida (Paul), Susan Connell (John), Nancy Gilbert (Jerry); sister, Betty Sutton; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren"
