1820: Jefferson Co., TN, Court Order Book: John Collins' Power of Attorney to George Branner, entered September 14, 1820. Know all men by these presents that whereas Edward Collins, deceased, late of Orange Co., VA, by his last Will and Testament in writing bearing date of (blank) did give and bequeath a legacy unto me John Collins of Jefferson Co., TN. The said Will made and constituted Lewis Collins and George Morris joint executors of his estate. I the said John Collins have made, ordained, constituted and appointed George Branner of the County of Jefferson my true and lawful attorney for me and in my name, and for my own proper use, to act, demand, and recieve of and from the said Lewis Collins and George Morris executors as aforesaid the legacy given unto me the said John Collins by the said will of the said Edward Collins deceased and upon receipt thereof by or payment thereof to my said attorney a general release or discharge for the same to make, execute, or deliver, etc, etc. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 10th day of April 1820.
