Grandson of Mary Anne Meese

“John Stafford" was a man named John CRAWFORD (Craford). His grandmother was named Mary Mees, Ames, or Amis (take your pick from the will). It seems that he had no other relatives to leave anything to so either did not marry or wife and children were already dead.

• In Name of God Amen I JOHN CRAFORD of Staford County being sick and weak in body but of parfickt Since .. do aporit that my exseter shall buere me & pay my Debts 4 Dev.
• Item I give to my Grandmother MARY MEESE all my part of my Deceased Grand fathers estate to her & the heirs of her body also I givese to my Grandmother 300 pounds of Tobacco which is due to me from WILLIAM SABASTON only I am indebted to the said Sabasten five days work which I disier you shall pay him I allso ordane my Granmother MARY MEAS my whole and Sole Exseter of this my Last Will 6 Testament 13th April 1733.
