John Philip Danner/Tanner/Tomer/Turner was born about 1739 in Germany and arrived at Philadelphia 2 Nov 1752 on the ship "Phoenix" with his father Christian Sr. Danner. Philip married Eva Albaugh 17 Feb 1760 probably in Frederick Co., MD. It's said that he lived at or near Woodsboro, Frederick Co., MD. He's listed in Pipe Creek Hundred on the 1773 & 1783 Tax Lists of Baltimore county which means he moved there by 1773. Eva Albaugh was born about 1739 on Brethren Society Lands in New Jersey. She probably died before 1820 in Pipe Creek Hundred, Baltimore Co. Eva Albaugh's parents were Zachariah Sr. Albaugh who married 9 Nov 1718 in Germany to Anna Demuth Shuman. They arrived at Philadelphia on the ship "Hope" 23 Sep 1734. Children of John Philip & Eva were Esther born 25 Jan 1761; Hennestophel "Henry" born 18 June 1762 m. Elizabeth; Elizabeth born 4 Aug 1763 m. Jacob Hams; Anna born 9 Sep 1765 m. Henry Kitterman; Susannah born 17 Sep 1767 m. George Ebaugh; Philip born 25 Oct 1769; Zachariah born 7 Mar 1772 m. Margaret Sawyer; Eva born 16 June 1774; and Michael born 2 May 1776 m. Ann Elizabeth "Betsy" Leister. John Philip Danner died before 1810 probably at his home in Pipe Creek Hundred. This is the famous Philip Danner that several historians have tried to label as Philip born about 1736 son of Michael Danner 1696-1781 & Anna Bend of York Co., PA. They thought this because one Brethren writer and author of a book called "Chuch of the Singing Hills" got hold of an old Sauer bible that was probably owned by Eva Albaugh Danner. In this bible Eva listed her marriage date and birth dates for all of her children with her husband "J Philip Danner". There are no enties for J Philip's 2nd marriage or any younger children which indicates that this was Eva Albaugh's bible and the entries are probably her handwriting. Eva Albaugh actually married to a Lutheran named John Philip Danner, son of Christian Sr. Danner whose family also lived in about this same area of Frederick Co., MD and later in neighboring Pipe Creek Hundred, Baltimore Co., MD. NO known member of the Christian Danner family was ever Brethren! AND, John Philip Danner is NOT the same as the Brethren Philip Danner born about 1736, brother of Rev. Jacob and mentioned 29 May 1782 in the estate of their father Brethren Michael Sr. Danner 1696-1782 of York Co., PA. In fact NO other known member of this Brethren Danner family EVER lived in Frederick Co., MD! Rev. Jacob was the ONLY one! Other than an IGI entry for his birth, there's NO other known trace of Brethren Philip in York Co., PA or Frederick Co., MD! Brethren Philip is NOT the John Philip Danner who married Eva Albaugh as decades of people have been saying! No Brethren historian ever even knew these Lutheran & Reformed Danners existed in Frederick Co., MD. Basically, they just attached them ALL to the Brethren Danners which literally destroyed all other Danner families of Frederick Co., MD!
