January "31" , 1768 ; by the time he was a small boy he was in that section of the Virginia frontier which is now Pocahontas County, West Virginia; married elizabeth Howard (who was born November 28, 1776) on the Greenbrier River in Virginia; John Day, Jr., moved with his parents to what is now Jefferson County, Tennessee in 1785; was living in that part of Tennessee in 1833 when he executed an affidavit accompanying his father's application for a pension as a veteran of the Revolution; died in Hawkins County, Tennessee,in 1839.
