Born about 1602 (aged 25 in 1635; deposed 24 Jun 1662 "aged sixty years." (Based on the 1662 deposition & the age of his wife, we assume that the age given for John Deacon in 1635 is wrong.) Blacksmith who came to Massachusetts Bay in 1635 on the "Abigail." First settled in Lynn; moved to Salem in 1660; & Boston by 1663. Died after 11 Nov 1678.
Married
(1) by 1635, Alice ____. For the court of 3 Jul 1646, she was one of two witnesses against the "wife of Tho[mas] Coats ... for saying publicly and disturbing those who sat near, when Mr. Cobbett was preaching on a Sabbath, that Christ was circumcised on the eighth day, and that then he was not baptized." She died at Lynn 27 Jul 1657.
(2) in Lynn MA, 25 Dec 1657, Elizabeth (____) Pickering, widow of John Pickering of Salem. She died at Salem, 30 Aug 1661.
(3) by 1670, Ann ____. "Goodwife Deacon" died, apparently at Boston, on 3 Dec 1690.
