John Deming was born on December 27, 1694 in Wethersfield, Hartford, Connecticut. He was the son of Samuel and Sarah Buck Deming. He married Elizabeth Perkins, widow of Rev. Daniel Buck, on November 25, 1727 in Lisbon, New London, Connecticut. They were married by the Rev. Daniel Kirkland. John and Elizabeth had three children in Wethersfield and their last two supposedly in Preston, Connecticut. In March of 1743, John bought land in Norwich, New London, Connecticut and moved his family there. John and his wife died in the same month and year, January 1763, in Norwich, New London, Connecticut.

17 JOHN DEMING, (son of Samuel 4) born 27 Dec. 1694 in Wethersfield, Conn.; died in Jan. 1763 in Norwich Conn.; married 25 Nov. 1727 in Lisbon, Conn.,† Elizabeth PerKins, daughter of Capt: Jabez and Hannah (Lothrop) Perkins, and widow of Rev. Daniel Buck, born in 1703 ; died in Jan. 1763.

John Deming moved from Wethersfield to Norwich, where he first bought land in March, 1743. He appears to have owned land also in Preston and Groton. His will was dated 3 Jan. 1763, and proved the 24th of the same month, and his wife's will dated 14 Jan. 1763, was proved the 22nd of the same month, showing that he and his wife died in the same month and year. His first three children were baptized in Wethersfield; the others are supposed to have been born in Preston. To his wife he left one-half of his land and the use of his house; and the other half of his land was bequeathed to his three sons. To his daughter Honour he left fifteen pounds, and to his daughter Lucy a chamber in the house, and the use of the garden, and forty-five pounds.‡ His wife's first husband was Rev. Daniel Buck, to whom she was married in 1722 in Franklin, Conn.; by this marriage she had a daughter Elizabeth, who married William Perkins.
