TV presenter and bus mechanic's daughter Donna Air is stepping up in the world. After a seven-year romance with the son of a multi-millionaire, she is now dating the heir to a billionaire.

Donna, previously engaged to zoo-owner and gambler John Aspinall's entrepreneur son, Damian, has been quietly stepping out with the son of U.S.-born tycoon John Dorrance, whose family inherited 40 per cent of the Campbell Soup Company .

Handsome John Dorrance IV, 36, lives in some style between a home in Holland Park and Gstaad in the Swiss Alps. His great-grandfather was the American chemist who first invented a method of condensing soup.

But his father renounced U.S. citizenship to become a tax exile in Ireland, where last year he was named as the country's fifth richest man, with a £1 billion fortune.

Donna, 30, who has a six-year-old daughter, Freya, by Aspinall, is said to be smitten by her new beau.

The couple were first seen together in Istanbul for the 50th birthday celebrations of New Zealand tycoon Eric Watson.

They were together again at Sir Elton John's white-tie ball, and just last week they were arm-in-arm at the Love Ball, part of London Fashion Week at Camden's Roundhouse.
