About John E. Loomis
Lived in Wisconsin until after WWII. During the war served as a Pfc. in Co. F, 379th Inf., 95th Div in ETO, Northern France and Rhineland Campaigns, Combat Infantryman, attended Ripon College for two terms. In service he was in the ASTP program, attending the University of Pennsylvania for two terms and while hospitalized earned an AA degree from Placer Junior College, Auburn, CA. Obtained AB & JD degrees from Stanford University in 1947 and 1949 respectively. Practiced law in Fresno, CA 1950-1994. Deputy DA, Ass’t County Counsel and thereafter private practice. In 1969 was a Co-founder, San Joaquin College of Law, thereafter Ass’t Dean, Dean, Professor of Law and Trustee. In 2010 named a Chevalier in the French Legion of Honor in recognition for service in France.
