Dropped the O' from his surname when he came to Canada. Moved to Douglas, Ont before 1650. Some of his children moved to Renfrew, Ont. While living in Pakenham the Germans used the RC church in Arnprior. Founding Families shows his middle name as Foley. The second last entry in the 1851 census of Bromley lists a Thomas Gorman, age 91, who died 'by decay of nature'. Is this John. The Gorman of L27C5 appears to be this family but the census entries are very confused." LDS
