Death Came Tuesday Morning.
John Funnemann died at his home north of Teutopolis early Tuesday morning after an illness that extended over a number of years. In his death the community has lost one of its best and most substantial citizens. He was a big liberal hearted man, kind and considerate of all. For the past twenty years he has been a sufferer with cancer, which caused him much pain and suffering. The past year he .has been failing fast and death relieved him of his suffering on Tuesday morning.
John Funnemann was born in Teutopolis township near the site of his present home; on Nov. 1, 1851. He grew to manhood there and received his education in the local schools. He was twice; married, first to Gustave Rietcheck and to this union two children |were born, both dead. Thirty-two years ago he was united in marriage to Miss Minnie Busse, and nine children resulted from this union. All are living and are as follows: Mrs Clem (Mary) Willenborg, Frank, Henry, Mrs henry (Elizabeth) Wessel, John, Edward, Eva, Sylvester and Aloysius. The funeral takes place this morning from the Catholic Church.
