The Ebenezer Record Book, Years 1754-1781, under the listings for 1770 burials, p.131 of the blue hard back / p.104, listing 670 of the red hard back, records that he is indeed buried at the Jerusalem Lutheran Church Cemetery, in what is today an unmarked grave, with what is left of a wooden marker, or no marker at all, along with his father Israel, first wife Eleanora and their first child Johannes.

John came to Savannah in the colony of Georgia with the 5th Palatine group on the 12th transport, the ship, "Charles Town Galley", captained by Peter Bogg, arriving on October 2, 1749.
