1 May 1589: James Stewart, merchant, burgess, with the consent of James Gibsoun, son and heir of q. John Gibsoun, for implement of part of a contract between James Gibsoun on the one part, and Jonet Herbertsoun relict of q. John Gibsoun on the other part, resigned in favour of Jonet Herbertsoun, in liferent, an annualrent od 20 merks, and of Jonet Gibsoun, her daughter, heritably, and annualrent of 10 merks, part of the said annualrent of 20 merks, which annualrent of 20 merks was payable furth of a tenement of land, fore and back, with yard and pertinents, sometime belonging to q. John Gibsoun, then to Henry Wilsoun, lying between the lands of q, George Herbertsoun on the north, and the lands of Thomas Myln and q. Andrew Dunlope on the south. Sasine given by James Flemyng, bailie. Annualrent of 10 merks to be redeemable by James Gibsoun or his heirs on payment of 100 merks. 6 May 1589: Margaret Stewart, spouse of James Gibsoun, son and heir of q, John Gibsoun, burgess, with the consent of James Gibsoun, resigned in favour of Jonet Herbertsoun, relict of q. John Gibsoun, the liferent of the annualrent of 20 merks, and of Jonet Gibsoun, her daughter, heritably, the annualrent of 10 merks, both specified in protocol No, 3272, and they ratified the sasine given on 1 May. 13 May 1598: John Andersone, then sole bailie of the burgh, gave to Jonet Gibsone, spouse to David Calderwod, and only daughter of q. John Gibsone, citizen, and Jonet Herbertsoun, spouses, as heir to her father and mother, sasine of two and one half acres of land with pertinents, lying discontigous, t.c., in the common muir of Gallowmure, one of which acres lay in the croft called Youngis Croft . . . . .
