John SCOTT GOULD first appears in 1831. Robert Hooper Scott was his uncle (his mother's brother) and he had died in 1829.

John Scott Gould is shown as owner/occupier of MOORDOWN also the land as before, plus 'part Bucknoles' and 'part Whatleys'.

His wife was called SOPHIA and her maiden name was BARRETT.

So - we can date the Barrett involvement with Moredon from 1831 and the arrival of Mr. and Mrs. John Scott Gould.

He died in 1846, so he lived at Moredon for about 15 years and she lived on there until her death in 1871.
