John Gray, of Gray's Inn

Various Tooke visitations and genealogies agree that Dorothy's father was JOHN GRAY of London and allegedly of Gray's Inn (i.e., the Law Temple--there was a John Gray admitted in this time period).

The will of James Tooke, Dorothy's husband, refers to his brother-in-law, Nathaniel Gray.

• Dorothy Gray Tooke was the daughter of “John Gray of London and of Greye's Inne," wife unknown. This is shown in the Tooke pedigree in the “Visitation of London, 1633, 1634, and 1635,” by Sir Henry St. George, et al., also the Tooke pedigree in “The Publications of the Harleian Society, Volume 17.”
• John Gray’s wife, parents, and birthplace are unknown. All that's known is he lived in London and was allegedly a member of Gray's Inn (still trying to confirm this). Here’s hoping future research will shed some light on him.
