John James Harper Birth: 23 Mar 1862 Death: 15 May 1912 Buried at the Old Buffalo Church Cemetery, on the east side of Highway 1249 opposite the Buffalo Baptist Church.

Buried with his wife at Pleasant Valley, the church cemetery at Buffalo. I think this cemetery may be entered on Find A Grave twice, once as Buffalo Cemetery and once as Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

Note: "Tombstones in this cemetery have been damaged by farmers."

The Old Buffalo Church Cemetery is on a small hill on the east side of Highway 1249 opposite the Buffalo Baptist Church. Among those buried here are Ingram and Elizabeth Nichols Renner, George W. Decker, and Elisha and Emeline Cornett Whitaker.

The old Pleasant Valley Baptist Church is reported to have been located here.

Note: Buffalo Cemetery is in Rockcastle County, Kentucky, but is isn't near Conway. It's near Mount Vernon. It may also be called Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

The Buffalo cemetery, where the Harpers are buried, is close to a small community called Sand Springs, Rockcastle County, KY. You take the Sand Springs Rd. out of Mt. Vernon and go to Buffalo Branch Rd. to get there. It's not too far from the Harper Cemetery, in fact, you go right by the Buffalo Cemetery going to the Harper cemetery.
