About John William Hartman
Baptised Johann William Hartman.
Going by the name Will, as a boy both his grandfathers lived with him. These grandfathers did not get along and therefore had to have two seperate bedrooms. And for this reason Will and 3 other brothers slept in the same room and in the same bed (crosswise).
Will went to public schools first. Then changed to a Catholic schoolat about age 12 or 13. The Catholic school put him back a grade or two so he dropped out at got a job.
As an adult Will was a clothing cutter at Kuppenheimer's Clothiers. He was also a shop Steward for the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America Union and was a Grievance Board representing the men in his shop.
