1878 December 19 -PORTAGE LAKE MINING GAZETTE, HOUGHTON, MICHIGAN
One day last week an accident occurred in the Allouez mine, Keweenaw County, to a miner, John Henry FALL. While charging a hole, a premature explosion took place, requiring the amputating of his hand. He subquently died from the accident. He was a married man with several children.
