Biography

Farmington Hills, MI, USA: Gale Research, 2009.</ref> These four children were specifically named in 1627 in the distribution ofPlymouth's cattle-- they were Samuel, Ephraim, Lydia and Phebe.<ref> Louis E. DeForest, Moore & Allied families (1938), p 297 https://archive.org/details/moorealliedfamil00defo</ref> An 1890 genealogy claimed that this son of Robert was the same John Hicks who was married to Herodias Long of Newtown, New York.<ref>Thomas Clapp Cornell, "The Hicks Family", in Adam and Anne Mott: theirancestors and their descendants (1890), pp 371-372</ref> But he must have been deceased by 1645 when a known later-born sibling (Samuel) was referred to as eldest son in the will of Robert. Therefore, the John Hicks of Rhode Island and later Long Island could not have been son of Robert.
