Personal Note: My father's line descended from Scotland and Wales and England and my mother's line descended from Ireland.

The Ingram's immigrated to this country from Wales, and are known to have been in Northumberland County, Virginia, before the middle of the seventeenth century. Four generations later Joseph Ingram(1744-1828) settled in Anson County, North Carolina. He was born in Culpepper County, Viriginia, the son of John Ingram and Hannah Pines; It is said that seven of John Ingram's sons served in the American Revolution, and of these Joseph was one.
