About John 'Jack' R Lindsay

John R. 'Jack' Lindsay, 77, of Chippewa Township, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley Beaver.

Born October 20, 1936, in Big Beaver, a son of the late John T. and Ethel E. (Francis) Lindsay, he served briefly in the U.S. Army before marrying his wife, Karen 'Kay' (McCall) Lindsay, whom he married in 1965. He retired as a machinist from Standard Horse Nail in New Brighton and was a graduate of Beaver Falls High School. An avid guitar player, he met his hero Chet Atkins and was in the country western gospel band 'The Way of the Cross.'

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karen 'Kay' (McCall) Lindsay; a brother, James Lindsay; an infant sister, Margret Lindsay; a brother-in-law, Skip Hall, and a niece, Judith Corbin.

Surviving are two daughters, Paula Alexander, Pittsburgh, and Debra Lindsay, Chippewa Twp.; two granddaughters, Rebekah Lindsay and Katherine Lindsay; five sisters and four brothers-in-law, Marcella and Ken Urgitus, Mary Louise Hall, Ellamae and Ralph Corbin, Elizabeth and William Roush, and Marlene and Edward Market, all of Big Beaver; two brothers-in-law, David William McCall and his wife Ann, New Brighton, and Richard D. McCall, Patterson Twp., and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 117 Blackhawk Road, Chippewa Twp., www.gabauerluttonfuneralhome.com, where a service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Dan Muir, of Chippewa Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, will officiate.

Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Big Beaver.
