About John Scott Jackson, Sr.

John S. Jackson, 88, of Sewickley, formerly of Waynes- burg, died Saturday, November 10, 2007, in Sewickley, following a brief illness. He was born November 28, 1918, in Jefferson, a son of Norma Jamison and Percy E. Jackson. He earned a bachelor of science degree from College in 1948 and worked for Steel for 25 years. From 1942 to 1945, he served as a captain in the Army Air Forces, 15th Air Force, 485th Bomb Group, stationed in Venosa, Italy. On August he married Rosalie Barretta, who died January Surviving are a son, John S. Jackson II and wife Sarah Hook Jackson of Moon Township; three daughters, Deborah Kahn and husband Russell of Jamestown, Lisa MacLeod and husband John of Woodbridge, Va., and Linda Moinet and husband Al of Los Angeles, Calif.; six grandchildren, melissa Kahn of Raleigh, Evan Kahn of Whittier, Calif., Nicholas Jackson of St. Charles, Mo., Stephen Jackson of Pittsburgh and Carolyn MacLeod and Jack MacLeod, both of Woodbridge, Va.; and two sisters, Maty Jackson Piatt of Butler and Barbara Jackson Moore of Lancaster. Deceased are two brothers, Edward and Robert Jackson; and two sisters, Norma Lea Jackson Gall and Ruth Jackson Robinson. Friends will be received from 10 to noon, the hour of services, Saturday, November 17, in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High Street, Chuck Behm, director, with the Rev. William A. Sukolsky officiating. Private interment will be held in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cech Township. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice Care of Washington Hospital, 155 Wilson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301; or American Cancer Society.
