John Thomas Jackson (son of William Jackson and Jane) [1], [2], [3]

was born Abt. 1850 [1], [4],

and died date unknown.

Notes for John Thomas Jackson:

According to Rose's letter dated 28 June 1956,

"The summer I was 12 years (1889), I think, Uncle John Thomas, along with a cousin Tom Venderbur, and part of Tom's family, came out to Kansas and visited for several days. What impressed me most about Uncle John, he was such a small man, (if anything smaller than Reuben) and he would get up on a big dappled grey horse he had. As Ma said, 'He looks like a big toad up there.'" Page 2, paragraph 2.

Excerpt from Rose's letter dated 28 June 1956:

"Great Uncle John Jackson and Father's cousin Jim J. came over to see me. Uncle Marcellus took me over to Great Uncle's one day. I cannot think what Great Aunt's name was...an old fashioned one I know. Maybe Matilda. At the depot Uncle John came over and was talking to Uncle Marcellus and me, and I noticed a man watching us very interestedly. After Uncle Marcellus and Uncle John went outside, the man came over to me and asked if I was related to them. I said 'Yes, I am Andrew Jackson's daughter'. It seems he said he was John Jackson and another uncle. (How could that be I don't know). Just then a tall,red-headed young man came into the depot and he called him over to us and intoduced him as his son, Phil Jackson, a cousin. The old man did not tarry long and when they returned I said something about it to Uncle Marcellus and they laughed, and I don't remember the answer but it left the impression that they were not on speaking terms. Another of the Jackson feuds I suppose, but not so bloody as some of the terrible ones that Great Uncle told us about." Page 2, Paragraph 2.
