Was a superintendent of stock.

Was a farmer who came to New South Wales with wife & child on the "Royal Admiral" as one of the first free settlers.

Arrived in Australia in October 1792.

On 7 October 1792 was appointed superintendent of convicts on Norfolk Island.

April 1796 we returned to settle on the mainland at Port Jackson & received our first land grant of 100acres (40 hectares)

September 1800 Governor Philip Gidley King appointed me as superintendent of government stock & raised my salary to 100 pounds.

By 1820 I had retired to my own land at Liverpool which was 1200 acres.

By 1828 we had moved to a smaller block of 600 acres at Coomsby Hill, Parramatta.

Estate worth 3500 pounds.

Only two surviving sons became landholders at Cookbundoon & Cabramatta.
