John, Collector of Customs, of Boston, Massachusetts, admitted to the Inner Temple on 2 Feb 1732/33, called to the Bar on 1 Jun 1739,

m. 20 Oct 1734 at Christ Church, Philadelphia, Margaret, elder dau of Edward Shippen of Philadelphia and his wife Anna Francina, second dau of Matthias van der Heyden of Albany, New York. (Her namesake married Major General Benedict Arnold, the well-known traitor, in the same church 45 years later)
