GEDCOM Note

Per Rebecca Brown, FTM website: "The witnesses to the will of Isabella Triplett are James Triplett and John Jett. Isabella Triplett was the daughter of William Triplett who was the son of Francis Triplett the immigrant. In the will of Francis Triplett (the immigrant), of Richmond County, a bequest is made to "Francis Jett, son of John and Eliza Jett." In the will of John Jett, proved in Richmond county, Sep 16, 1710, he mentions his son Francis and also a daughter Abigail, which was the name of the wife of Francis Triplett. Because John and Eliza Jett named two of their children for Francis Triplett and his wife, that one of these children was a legatee in the will of Francis Triplett, and that there are many legal transactions between the Triplett and Jett families, suggests a strong probability that Eliza Jett was a daughter of Francis and Abigail Triplett. There is a deed from "John Triplett of Hanover Parish, King George county, to John Jett of Washington Parish, Westmoreland County," Sep 4, 1751, signed by John Triplett and Catherine Triplett. On Oct 2, 1755, "Francis Triplett and Mildred, his wife, of Hanover Parish, King George county, deed 150 acres of land in Hanover Parish to John Dishman of said county." Withnesses, Simon Triplett and John Jett. William4 Triplett (Francis3, William2, Francis1) was the "Mr. Triplett" who is mentioned in the "Letters of Thomas Jett" printed in the William and Mary Quarterly, Vol. XVII, p23. (William and Mary Quarterly Vol. 21, No 1 (Jul 1912) pgs.33-43)

Mentioned in Francis X Triplett's will dated Nov 20, 1700, proved Mar 4, 1701. Wife Abigail; sons Francis and William; grandson Francis, son of the eldest son Thomas, and in case he died then to grandson Thomas; legatee Francis Jett, son of John Jett and Elizabeth, his wife; Francis Triplett, son of Francis Triplett; wife Abigail and Mr. Willis, executors. (Will Book 2, Richmond Co, Virginia)

Mentioned in the will of John Jett, dated May 11, 1710, proved Sep 6, 1710. Son Francis; daughter Abigail; son John, son William; wife Elizabeth. (Will Book 3, Richmond Co, Virginia) NOTE: Was there a son named Peter?
