26 September 1505: Charter by Gavin Kennedy of Blairquhan, to John Kennedy his brother consanguinean, procreate between Sir John Kennedy Knight (father of the said Gavin Kennedy) and Margaret (Campbell) his wife (See GD25/1/171) and the heirs male of the said John Kennedy, whom failling to return to the said Gavin Kennedy of Blairquhan and his heirs whatsoever, of the 11 merk land of Skeith, Milton, Littlehills and Keramanach with the Mill thereof, lying in the Lordship of Galloway and County of Wigton - to be holden of the said Gavin Kennedy and his heirs for 3 suits of Court to be holden at Coltreath yearly, together with duties and service of ward and relief. Witnesses - James Kennedy, Florence Kirkpatrick and Alexander Boyd. Dated at Cumiston. 25 April 1507: Instrument of Resignation by Sir John Kennedy of Blairquhan Knight, in the hands of Sir David Kennedy Knight Fiar of Cassillis his superior, of the 12 and a half merk land of Giltree, Drumore, Dirock, Bernoil, Barganach and Mossland, with the Mill thereof, the 4 and a half merk land of Shanwin, 2 and a half merk land of Clonachie, 3 merk land of Meikle Shellach, 1 merk land of Knocklay, 2 merk land of Troscan, and 2 merk land of Clongill, all lying in the Lordship of Cassillis and Earldom of Carrick, for new infeftment thereof to be granted by the said Sir David Kennedy to John Kennedy son of the said Sir John Kennedy, and Margaret Campbell wife of the said John Kennedy, and their heirs male - reserving to the said Sir John Kennedy his liferent of the said lands, and a reasonable third part to Dame Margaret Campbell his wife, for her liferent only.
