Married June 15, 1927 in Kingston, Luzerne Co., PA

"Norman was born at the family home on Spring Street, attended public schools, and graduatedd from Wilkes-Barre High School in June 1918, as a member of the Boy's Mathmatical Course. He was a fine pianist, served as accompanist for the high school chorus, and also played at the Nickelodian in Plains, PA. He began his working career at the Sheldon Axle Works during World War I, and while there, seriously injured several fingers in an industrial accident.

Norman also graduated from Wilkes-Barre Extension School of Accounts and Finance. In September 1923, he entered the Bloomsburg State Normal School, graduating with a mathematics major in 1925. At Bloomsburg, he was called "Bud" and apparently was popular with the girls and quite active on campus. He was elected Vice-President of the Boy's Dormitory Club in his first year, and President in his second year. He served on the editorial staff of the school yearbook, sang with the men's Glee Club, was cast as Captain Tarpaulin in Princess Bonnie, played in the Junior-Senior football game both years, and played intermural basketball.

While at Bloomsburg, Norman met his future wife. Ruth, still in high school, when she came by train with a group of girlfriends to attend a school dance. Norman was at the station to meet the train and handle the transfer of their luggage.

After graduation, Norman began teaching in Dallas, PA, serving as principal the last year. His teaching career was shortened at the insistence of his bride-to-be. He took a job as a "window trimmer' with Raleigh Window Display service of Kingston, PA and a year or so later transferred to Allentown, PA. He continued with Raleigh's until the early days of World War II, then began working at the Bethlehem Steel Company, but soon thereafter the family returned to the Wyoming Valley and he began his employment with the W. H. Nicholson Company, first as a machinist, and finally as a pickler.

Suffering from diabetes and cancer, he died at the age of 59."
