Biography

John May of Wisbeck born c1550 son of Henry May of Wisbech and ____ married Thomasine Cross about 1671. She was duaghter of John and Jacomine (___) Cross. They were grandparents of Dorothy May the Mayflower passenger and wife of William Bradford. After John May died in 1584 she married second Edward White. She was mother to William White the Mayflower passenger and Martha White. She was the aunt of Peregrine Cross namesake to the Mayflower passenger Peregrine White.

2. John May bp 8 DEC 1576 Wisbech, Cambridgeshire he became a bishop

4. Jacomine, bp 1580 • Wisbech, Cambridgeshire married printer Jan l'Ecluse on 5 May 1609
5. Barbara bp 1582 Wisbech, Cambridgeshire

Dorothy May the Mayflower passenger and wife of William Bradford is the granddaughter of John May of Wisbech. It was originally thought that she might be the daughter of John May, of King's Lynn In recent article published in April 2017 the correct lineage of Dorothy May was published.
