A farmer. He migrated to Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland with a friend, William McQuigg, when they both were young men probably in the 1750's from Islay, Co. Argyll, Scotland. Presbyterian and descendant of Scots Convenanters. His birthdate and death date are estimations. His burial is believed in Saint Cuthberts but this could be in error. I believe that Mathew McDuffee buried in this cemetery is likely John's son based off of info I have.
