- Note: Admitted to the U.S.M. Academy, West Point, NY, on July 1 , 1932, at the age of nineteen years, ten months. He gradua ted on June 12, 1936. He was 217th in a class of 276. Serve d in WW II, as commander of the 502nd Parachute Infantry Re giment, 101st Airborne Division, in the invasions of Norman dy and Holland. After WW II, he served in the Pentagon, whe re he was the senior aide to General Eisenhower. During th e Korean War he became regimental commander of the 27th Inf antry, 25th Infantry Division. Before leaving Korea, "Mike " was promoted to brigadier general, the youngest in the Ar my. In 1952, Mike served as the commandant of cadets at th e U.S. Military Academy, his alma mater. He retired from th e military in 1972.

Mike served as aide to General Dwight D. Eisenhowe r from May 8, 1947, to February 10, 1948, and will again jo in his staff at Paris.
