This is the true Middleton of Middleton Hall branch. Col. William Middleton only certifies the pedigree back to Sir Geoffrey Middleton, and it is not quite certain the link to the earlier Middletons of Middleton. Most of the pedigrees go via Thomas Middleton and Margaret Lascelles.
