About John Muncy
John Muncy, age 67, born May 10, 1828, a resident of Leslie County, Kentucky, died November 23, 1895. He was the son of John Muncy Sr. and Elizabeth Templeton. John was a veteran of the Civil War, a Corporal in Company C commanded by Captain John Wilson in the 47th Regiment of the Kentucky Volunteer Infantry commanded by Colonel A. H. Clark. John Muncy was captured by John Hunt Morgan's men near Cynthiana, Kentucky in June 1864. He was honorably discharged at Lexington, KY, December 26, 1864. Inscription: CORP CO. C 47TH KY INF
