John's marital history is a bit confused. It appears his 1st wife was a Lydia Eddy (b.1825). It is possible that John's 1st nine children were born from Lydia.

His 2nd wife is listed as Sarah A. Streight in the 1880 USCensus. Sarah's daughter (John's stepdaughter), Sarena Streight is listed as living in their household. Sarah Straight/Streight was born in 1818 in Monongalia County, Virginia. She died in 1895. Her father was Jacob Straight (b.1799). Her mother was Jane Straight (b.1799).

John & Sarah may have married in Virginia in 1840. It appears that a 10th child was born to John by Sarah, a daughter named Nancy A. Neptune (b.June 13, 1870), who was also listed in the Census as a household member.

A Lark Streight, age 5, was listed as Sarena's son in the Census.

One record referred to a 3rd wife, Sarah Ann Pritchard. I could find no data on her.
