John Conrad (Konrad) Nossaman, Sr.

He was born in Hesse Cassel, Germany. He came from Germany through Rotterdam, Holland, on the ship "Sally." He was indentured Sept. 15, 1773 to Job Cose and his assign (residence Waterford Twp. Glocester Co., W. Jersey) Occupation: servant. Term 6 years. (Curt Sytsma) 1777 Four years after he entered into his indentured servitude, John Nossaman was enlisted as a substitute in the Philadelphia Militia to fight in the Revolutionary War. (It is likely he was forced to take the place of his owner or one of his owner's friends.)
