About John Podhoretz
John Mordechai Podhoretz (born April 18, 1961) is an American writer. He is the editor of Commentary and writes the Letter from the Editor column. He was one of the founders of the Weekly Standard and still serves as the magazine's movie critic. A Fox News Channel contributor, he founded Insight magazine as well. The author of four books, including the bestselling Bush Country, Podhoretz was the lead political columnist for the New York Post for 10 years and also served as the paper's editorial-page editor and arts editor. He won the JC Penney–Missouri Journalism Award in 1990. He was a speechwriter for President Reagan and has worked at Time, the Washington Times, and U.S. News and World Report.
A five-time Jeopardy! champion, Podhoretz wrote a television column for the Washington Times newspaper. According to a friend, "There's no Seinfeld or Mary Tyler Moore reference he wouldn't get."
