Katie was sent to Great Barrington to be taken care of by friends Issac and Fiche Van Deusen (he would stay with them on hunting trips). John was born and Katie decided to carry on the Putnam name. Then lived with the VanDeusen's. VanDeusen's grandaughter, named Fiche, married John and they had a daughter named Katie.
