John Quam

John Quam, 40, a farmer residing a few miles southwest of Clearbrook, passed away Friday Oct 12th at 7:45 o'clock in the evening at the Crookston Hospital.

John Quam was born at Twin Valley, Norman County, April 12, 1892, his parents being Sarah and Lars Quam. He was baptized in the Wild Rice Church near Twin Valley. Together with his parents, Mr and Mrs Lars Quam, he moved to Clearwater County in 1897, where he has since lived on the homestead near Clearbrook.

He had always been a quiet and peace loving young man who went about his duties in a regular and quiet way. During the declining years of his mother, he has faithfully stayed with her and helped her in all respects. His health has not been the best in the last few years. Six weeks ago, he took seriously ill and became so ill that removal to the hospital in Crookston was necessary. Here, several operations did not help his condition as he did not rally towards recovery and died October 12th.

He leaves to mourn, his parents and four sisters: Mrs Anton Weiler, Duluth; Mrs Ed Johnson, Superior, Wis.; Mrs Olaf Halvorson, Clearbrook and Mrs Elmer Olberg, Clearbrook. One of his sisters, Mrs Henry Olberg, preceded him passing away in 1927.

Funeral services were held at the First Lutheran Church at Clearbrook, Saturday afternoon, with internment in the church cemetery.
