Winona Republican Herald, Jan 4, 1929 : The three (John Schuminski, Mrs Iona Webber, Mrs Gladys Stoltz) were killed and Miss Gertrude Page injured when Schuminski backed his automobile away from a nearby roadhouse onto the west bound track of the railroad (where it stalled) where it was struck by Train No. 59, fast mail and express enroute from Chicago to the Twin Cities. The group had been attending a jubilant all night New Year's party and the accident occurred at 6:10 am Tuesday.
