About John Adam Shealy, Sr.
Adam Shealy, Sr. was born about 1768 and died in April 1851 (buried April 22). He married Anna Mary Swittenberg, daughter of John Swittenberg and wife, Christina. In 1791 he bought a 520 acre tract from John Adam Summer (B. H. Holcomb, Newberry Deeds Abstracts, Vol. I). This land was at Little Mountain, SC, where his family at first lived. Adam Shealy, Sr., later moved to the area near Union Lutheran Church, Leesville, SC.
