John Snyder

John Snyder was A carpenter. He lived at different places in Utica, New York. He lived at Cornelia St where it intersects Court St and He also lived at 71 Cornelia St. His first wife died in 1839 and he remarried his second wife in 1841 in Newport, NY in Herkimer County. His oldest daughter from his first marriage married a Mr Dutcher and moved to Floyd county, Iowa. The rest of the family came to Floyd Co, Iowa abt 1861 or 1862. I know that the family was in Utica, NY because I have a book that Ida Joanna received from her parents that says from Mother and father Christmas 1860, Utica. Charlotte (Tyler) Snyder and Freddy Bly Snyder were buried at one cemetery in Utica, but there was construction there, and they and abt two hundred others were moved to a very large cemetery but the graves are unmarked there. I believe that Freddy Bly Snyder was abt 16 yrs old when he died in 1859.
