Biography
Stackpole # 31. John Swett (Stephen3, Benjamin2, John1), born in Newbury 26 Dec. 1703, married (1) in Newbury, 21 April 1726, Martha, prob. dau. of Nathaniel and Priscilla (Merrill) Noyes. He moved to Falmouth, Me., and there married (2) 17 Jan. 1736, Hannah Cobb, dau. of Samuel and Abigail (Stuart). She was born in Middleboro, Mass., 1 April 1712. He was killed by Indians 16 June 1746, having lived in that part of Falmouth called Casco. See Smith's Journal, where he is called by mistake Joseph Swett. His widow married (2) Zerubbabel Hunnewell of Windham. Pub. 12 Jan. 1754. She died 24 April 1791. First two children born in Newbury, the rest in Falmouth. Deeds at Portland fix the relationship of the following.
